Ingredients for Chili Cheese Toast Indian Recipe
- Bread Slices : 8
- Mozzarella Cheese (Cheese of Choice) : 1 cup (grated)
- Onion : 1 (Finely chopped)
- Green Chili : 2 (finely chopped)
- Salt to taste
- Red Chili Powder : 1/4 tsp (adjust to taste)
- Butter : 2 tsp
How to make Chili Cheese Toast Indian Recipe
In order to make Chili Cheese Toast Indian style, first of all chop the vegetables real fine. Big chunks of vegetables will not be tasting good in the toast. You can use a vegetable chopper to chop veggies really thin.
Once the vegetables are ready, mix mozzarella cheese in the mix of vegetables. Here in this recipe, I have added only onion and green chili to keep it simple. We can also add colored capsicum, thin sliced tomatoes, fresh coriander and we can add other herbs as well.
In this mix of mozzarella cheese and chopped vegetables, now add salt to taste along with red chili powder. In Indian recipes, red chili powder is used a lot and it is taken as almost a compulsory ingredient but we can always adjust the quantity to our own taste and in some cases, can completely avoid it as well. Here, in this recipe if you wish not to use red chili powder, please do so.
Now lets prepare the toast. Apply butter or ghee on both sides of the bread slices and place a tablespoon of cheese mix on each bread slice. Here you can prepare chili cheese toast in oven or cook on flames as well. For Oven, preheat the oven at 180 C, bake the brad slices for 2 – 3 minutes in it.
The bread becomes crisp and the cheese starts melting. We can make chili cheese toast on simple tawa / griddle or a frying pan also. For cooking on flames, keep the flames low. We should keep the flames low so that the bread slices become crisp and cook till the mozzarella cheese melts and leave an aroma.
